Joyce Meyer Devotional for the day – You Can’t Do It All!

You Can’t Do It All!
– From Final Fulfillmen by Joyce Meyer

Colossians 2:10
and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.

Ephesians 2:10
For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

John 6:29
Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent.”

Most of us feel at times that we should be “doing” more to be acceptable to God, but the truth is that we are made acceptable to God through our faith in Jesus (see Ephesians 2:4–8).

I have often felt that I needed to do or be more than what I am, and yet no matter how much I did, the feeling of being complete was never mine until I finally learned from God’s Word that we are “complete” in Jesus. In Him, we are not lacking anything. In ourselves we are bankrupt, but in Him we are all that God requires.

Some disciples asked Jesus what God required in order to be acceptable to Him, and He responded, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent” (John 6:29 NKJV). Oh, how freeing and refreshing it is to finally know that we don’t have to continually try to be more than we know how to be. We simply need to know God and put our trust in Him and allow Him to do what He desires to do in and through us.

PRAYER:

Father, thank You for making me complete through my faith in Jesus. Help me lean on You at all times and trust You in every situation.
